It was the beginning of summer 1993, when I decided that the '90s just weren't for me, and I missed the 80s like crazy. Well, enter in a crush of sorts on Corey's main partner in crime Corey Feldman. I was DONE! From that point on, that whole summer was all about the Coreys. Well, come the end of summer, I ended up having a pain in my lower back that just wouldn't go away. Turns out I had an infected cyst on the base of my tail bone. Well, this kept me from attending regular school, as when the pain got worse, and worse, I was stuck being at home in bed, (between doctor visits) for well over a year. Well, since my bed was in my Grandma's room along with hers, we ended up becoming really close (so some good came out of it). And you know what helped us to bond? Movies with the Coreys of course!
I can't tell you how many times we watched "License to Drive", "Dream A Little Dream", "The Lost Boys" (even though she really couldn't stand that one...she's not a big fan of horror). I loved my 80s and my Coreys so much, that I even started aquiring older editions of some of the teen magazines so I could read up on them and have lots of pinups.
As the years have passed, I still followed the Coreys. I even got a chance to see Corey Feldman and his band Truth Movement perform live in a club in Orlando! *grins* As stories of Corey Haim's continued trials and tribulations made way to my ears, I would get sad, of course, but I kept thinking that he had continued to survive for a reason...he was going to be alright. Well, after the last couple of episodes of "The Two Coreys" I wasn't so sure anymore.
Now my worst fear for Corey Haim has come to pass. Such a talented, albeit troubled, man has left this Earth. Right now, I am in too much shock to cry. At some point I will though, because I cared for him as I would any of my friends, even though we never met. But maybe, from heaven, he could know this..."I love you Corey! Thank you for all of the great joy that your work has brought to me and all of your fans! May you now, sweet Corey, find the peace that this world never afforded you."

When I was 13, I participated in a seance. It wasn't just a couple of friends fooling around with a ouiji board though. It was pretty intense. I was freaked out for a couple of weeks afterwards. The spirits that we made contact with were our personal spirit guides and being 13, I asked really shallow questions, like 'will I marry a guy who looks like Corey Feldman; would I ever get to meet Corey in person...silly questions like that. But where it got spooky was when a couple of objects flew off of the table and there were a couple of unexplainable noises. THAT made me swear off doing anything like that again!

(15 - 1, 1 is the hottest.)
(3) Say which movie/show/thing it was that hooked you.
(4) Supply photos for said people.

15. Edward Norton - I first saw him in "Primal Fear" with Richard Gere, and although I originally watched the movie ages ago b/c of a crush that I had on Richard Gere, after that movie, I became hooked on Edward. And after seeing him in "The Incredible Hulk" with his shirt off, all I can say is DAMN!!

14. George Eads - I started watching "CSI" way back when it first started, and realized that there was more to it than just a good show *wicked grin*

13. Johnny Depp - While I initially watched "21 Jump Street" because of my interest in Peter DeLuise, I of course succumbed to the hotness that is Johnny Depp.
Johnny Depp then
. and now...(I trust you see my point)

12. John Cusack - The first time I saw John was in one of the funniest movies of ever, called "Better Off Dead". It wasn't until a couple of years later that I realized "hey, he's pretty cute", and voila...so yeah, even years later, I'd still hit that.

11. Colin Ferguson - So, at first I was just a fan of a little show called "EUReKA" because of it's sci-fi nature. Well, after one afternoon of back to back episodes (some of which featured Mr. Ferguson shirtless) lust took over so...

10. Nathan Fillion - Well, I first saw him in Syfy channel marathon of "Firefly" and was like 'yeah baby'. That same year I drug my hubby out to Pennsylvania so that I could meet Mr. Fillion in person at the Moonlight Rising Buffy-verse convention there.

9. Martin Henderson - It is truly a shame that he hasn't been in more movies. I first saw him in "The Ring" on HBO (yeah, I skipped the theatrical release b/c hubby refuses to take me to horror movies in public because I scream at full blast) But I watched it everytime it came on TV because I couldn't get enough of him

8. Bailey Chase - I first saw this stunner in TNT's "Saving Grace" as Butch Ada. Initially, I wasn't too into the show, but all that changed as soon as I laid eyes on him. Now, because of sticking with the show, I actually am invested in the development of the characters.

7. Gale Harold - I first became aquainted with Gale from his portrayal of Brian Kinney on Showtime's version of "Queer As Folk". All I can say is this man is like sex on legs!!! *dies*

6. Richard Armitage - Mr. Armitage first caught my eye as the bad boy Guy of Gisborne on BBC's "Robin Hood" I know that you're supposed to root for the good guys, but Sir Guy was just so much hotter! And have you heard his voice?!? OMG, he could read the phone book and get me hot and bothered!

5. Freema Agyeman - I first saw her as the awesome-beyond-words Martha Jones in the third series of "Doctor Who". I must say though that while I am not gay, I can't help but lust after Ms. Agyeman...I mean she's just so damned gorgeous!

4. Aidan Turner - I tried not to be taken in by Being Human on BBC America, I really tried, but alas it is my new obsession. Of course, I couldn't ignore the hotness of Aidan Turner a.k.a. John Mitchell. It took me a minute for him to grow on me but yeah, he did...

3. John Haymes Newton - I have had a crush on this man ever since I was 8yrs old. I first saw him in the TV series "Superboy" as Clark Kent/Superboy. He was horribly replaced after 1 season by some old ass fart, which I'm still upset about. But, I digress...here's the pretty

2. Matt Bomer - Well, I remember first seeing him in the pilot episode of "Chuck" on NBC. However, he will be starring in the USA Network show "White Collar" premiering Friday, October 23. (Please watch as this dude is fucking hot and I need something to look forward to now that "Leverage" is on hiatus) He looks like he'd do <strike>my </strike> a body good! *wicked grin*

1. David Tennant - Well, those of you who know me knew he would be my top choice. I mean, come on...the slightly pouty bottom lip that is oh-so-suckable; the big brown googly eyes that are like pools of melted chocolate; the Scottish accent and the HAIR...that oh so ruffable, just -got -out -of -bed- after -hot -sex hair *dies again*
.

Well, that depends. If we're talking about songs that have been played a number of times not in mp3 format, that would have to be "Turned Away" by Chuckii Booker. If we're talking about songs actually on my computer, then it would be "Rollercoaster" by Janet Jackson.

Say what you will about the his personal strifes, but the man was very talented. I can't think of one moment in my life that wasn't accented by a MJ tune. The song in this tribute video was one of the first songs I remember hearing by Michael when I was only 3 years old. It was, is, and always will be one of my all time favorites.

Rest In Peace Michael. <lj:music>TV - Family Ties</lj:music>
This is probably going to be a long, rambling, bitchy post so it's under a cut if you'd rather skip

The story starts about 2 months ago. I decided to try and lose weight the right way so I joined a gym. To help me on my journey I also decided to employ the services of a personal trainer. That was such a mistake! I only had sessions scheduled once a week with this man, because that was all that I could afford and only lifting weights with him (which he insised on me doing, because he "didn't want me injuring myself". Ok, fine I was cool with that. However, he would squeeze a weeks worth of weight training into one 45 min session, and while that may seem extreme, I decided to trust him because he was a supposed "professional". Well, on week.4, he had me doing shoulder and chest presses on various machines and after the workout I felt my usual soreness but thought nothing of it.
The next day however, my upper arm felt like it was broken and I started to notice swelling around my elbow. I decided to put ice on it and give that a couple of days to see if the swelling would then go down. Well, on the third day after my workout, the swelling spread to include my fingers and shoulder, and the pain killers i was taking were wearing off a lot quicker than they should have. So after giving this a week and to the point where the pain was so bad I couldn't sleep at night, I finally went to a doctor. They prescribed me pain meds and muscle relaxers and sent me on my merry way.
. I tried to tell my trainer how much pain I was in and how the medications' side effects were keeping me from doing much of anything sans breathing, and being so caught up in the "i need my money" mentality, got pissed at me for not wanting to come in the gym and "work through the pain". Needless to say I told him we were done and hung up the phone on is unprofessional, money-grubbing ass!
To make matters worse however, after being on the pain meds for 2 weeks, I developed a respirtory infection in which case I spent the all of last weekend in the hospital with. It apparently caused me to have chest pain and "elevated cardiac enzymes" that forced me to be admitted because they thought it was a suspected heart attack. After numourous tests they found nothing wrong wih my heart and released me this past Monday. However, the doctor that was assigned to be my primary care physician prescribed me some pain meds that caused me to have severe side effects, one of which was bleeding like I was on my period. Mind you, per his instructions they gave me this drug in the hospital and when I noticed the bleeding his exact response was "I'm not an OB/GYN". It wasn't until I started having other symptoms of an allergic reaction (after I went home mind you) that when I called his office he told me to discontinue the meds and take regular Tylenol. WHAT THE FUCK DUDE?!? I just spent $33 dollars on those fucking pills and you tell me to "just take tylenol"?
So now I've racked up a good $15k hospital bill with no insurance, have $70 in my bank account and all because of a fucking doofus who didn't know what the fuck he was doing and messed up my shoulder. At least it's better enough to where I can type again with two hands.

Do you like this character?
Oh yeah! He's the funniest character next to Parker

2.) What name(s) do you call this character?
Alec or Hardison

3.) What image / color do you associate with character?
Definately black & silver, for they are the colors of technical hardware, which is where Hardison's strength lies.

4.) What song do you associate with this character?
Ooh, that's a good question! I would have to say "She Blinded Me with Science" by Thomas Dolby and "Digital Lover" by 33Hz

5.) What blood type do you think this character is?
I would say B negative.

6.) From all of the titles that feature this character, what other character do you think makes a good pairing with this character?
Well, romantically speaking I'd say Parker. But buddy-wise, even though they act like they get on each other's nerves, I think Hardison and Elliot Spencer make a good team.

7.) What would you want to say to this character?
If given the opprotunity, I'd ask him to teach me how to hack into the credit reporting bureau so that I could wipe out all my bad debt.

8.) What do you want to do with this character?
See answer to question 7.

9.) I had forgotten how cool it was until my recent move to Houston, Texas where a local station was showing it. I have to say that I still like this show as much as ever, and I'm currently saving up money to buy the series on DVD. When I was younger I liked it because of the relatability of the situations to real life and of course Johnny Depp. I have now found though, that I have become a firm supporter of the "Hanhoff" ship ( Officer Tom Hanson [Johnny Depp] and Officer Judy Hoffs [Holly Robinson]. How could I not? They're just so damned cute together!

2. Audio Editing

This one is something that I have always been interested in, as a matter-of-fact, I'm hoping to pursue a career in it later on. Even though I haven't yet had the opprotunity to take any classes, (it's taking longer than expected to get in the progam at the University), I dabble in it at home. Being as how I have a wealth of 80s dance music on records, and that the best versions of songs are usually the ones that are "extended", in order for me to put a number of them on a CD or tape (yes, cassette tape, I said it), they usually have to be trimmed down to about 4 minutes. I usually cut out the breakbeats and make my own shorter versions. The program that I have is called Wave Pad It's simple and easy to use. I also use it to make mp3 ringtones for my cell phone.

3. Charles in Charge

For those of you who don't remember, "Charles in Charge" was an 80s sitcom starring Scott Baio as Charles, a college student who was "in charge" of looking after the Powell children in exchange for room and board, and naturally, hilarity ensues. So why do I like, no, love.this show? First reason is because it is so completely and utterly 80s, (after all, I am an 80s girl, lol!). The second and most important reason is that it is funny as hell! This is due in part to the situations that Charles and the Powell's find themselves in, but mostly due to the presence of Charles' crazy, zany best friend, Buddy Lembeck.
<lj-embed id="5" />
4. Law & Order: UK
This is my latest <strike>obsession</strike> interest. I've always been a fan of the Law and Order series here in the US and figured that I would check out the UK adaptation. Of course it dosen't hurt that one of my favorite actresses, Freema Agyeman is a regular cast member. After having checked out the first episodes I have become hooked, and thanks to persiflage_1's fic Aftermath, I have become a James Steele/Alesha Phillips shipper.

5. Martha Jones

Seeing as how most of the people on my FList are Martha supporters, I'm sure you all know the reasons why she is one of my interests. However, I don't mind elaborating for those who don't know of her greatness.
For one thing, she is made of absolute awesome! She is brave; knoweldgeable about the way the world works; mature beyond her years; emotionally strong; and has saved the Tenth Doctor's butt numerous times and put up with his emo bullshit. The only shame is that even though Ten thought she was brilliant, he never admitted it to her, which is an absolute shame, but I won't digress on it too much; that is a topic of a whole other journal entry...

6. Music

Music is, was, and forever shall be my first love. It was a prevalent force in my household growing up. I recieved my first radio when I was 4 years old, and music has been in my life ever since. It has gotten me through some bad times in my life as well as reminded me now of some of the best times.
The music genre that I love is of course 80s music. Not just the stuff that is played on so-called retro radio stations now, but because I have a very good memory for music related things, I like some of the more obscure, hard to find songs that can't be found on Billboard's 100 greatest hits of every single year of the 1980s. However, 80s music isn't the only genre that I like. Being raised by my grandparents, I have developed an appreciation of jazz, and have developed a fondness for pop, rock, alternative, and indie. I only wish that I had the talent to play an instrument so that I can create music as well as appreciate it.

7. Roller Skating

I have always loved to skate. I got my first pair when I was 3, and it seemed as though every chance I got I was skating. Growing up, I used to skate in the garage and on the sidewalk that was located in the back of my house that connected to my other grandmother's house that was next door. It wasn't until I was 5 that I first went to the roller rink and started skating there, every Saturday. Of course, I would still skate at home in the garage too. Lately I just started to pick up skating again, as I haven't done it in like 10 years, and I had forgotten just how much fun it is. I just bought a new pair of skates that I'm hoping to test out tomorrow at this particular rink on the other side of town that plays 80s music. I went there a couple of weeks ago and had a really great time, so hopefully I can continue to keep up with it, after all it is good exercise too.
